INTEGRATED CHILD DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

 

The ICDS is implemented in the Urban Slums of Tirupathi since 1984. The program is aimed at

  • Improving the nutritional and health status of children in the age-group 0-6 years.
  • Laying the foundation for proper psychological, physical and social development of the child.
  • Imparting pre-school education to the beneficiary children.
  • Reducing the incidence of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition and school dropouts.
  • Enhancing the capability of the mother to look after the normal health and nutritional needs of the child through proper nutrition and health education.

 

The services of the project are provided through Anganwadicentres. Apart from the supplementary nutrition program, mother and child health care services, the project having focus on various community aspects of social concern, such as:

 

  • Adoption of Children
  • Girl child protection
  • Polio
  • Domestic violence
  • Child Marriages
  • DOT for TB Patients
