Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS)

FOUR DECADES in the service of Humanity

Thrift & Credit Programme

The organization believes that the economic status and development of women and children critically depend on the savings and productive investment of poor households. The concept of   SHGs as an effective instrument to alleviate the problems of poverty and employment was conceived by RASS.

It has now grown to become a convergent point for economically-disadvantaged women who lack access to credit and other community sources. RASS now operates Thrift and credit activities in the operational area of Tamil Nadu under the banner of “RASS Mahila Vikas” through 586 Self Help Groups with the participation of 7805 beneficiary women covering 138 villages in the area of operation.
