Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA)

The Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts aims at providing complete services which are essential for a person’s recovery from Drug and alcoholic addiction. The high prevalence of alcoholism in the rural areas of Rayalseema region of Andhra Pradesh is a major drive behind this establishment in the year 2004.

Bringing out the alcoholics and other drug users into clean lines thereby improving the socio­ economic status of their families is major focus of this centre.

Major services rendered by the centre include:

  • Preventive education and awareness
  • Screening and motivational counselling
  • Detoxification and whole person recovery
  • Care and support to families of drug users
  • Referral services
  • Post care and follow-up and

The center is functioning at Papanaidupet in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. As many as 6, 386 needy have been provided with services in the IRCA so far.
