Integrated Child Development Scheme

  • The ICDS is being run since 1984 in 42 Urban Slums of Tirupathi with around 12,500 needy children and around 4,000 needy mothers through 121 Anganwadi centers, aimed at –
  • Improving the nutritional and health status of children in the age group 3-6 years.
  • Imparting preschool education to the beneficiary children.
  • Reducing the incidence of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition, and school dropouts.
  • Enhancing the capability of the mother to look after the normal health and nutritional needs of the child through proper nutrition and health education.

The project is having focuses on various community aspects of social concern, such as:

  • Domestic
  • Child Adoption
  • Girl Child protection
  • child marriages
  • Polio amongst children
  • DOT for TB patients

Since its inception in the year 1984, the project is being supported by the Department of Women ft Child Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
